What is Title One ?

Title One is a program that provides additional funding to schools because 50% or more of their students receive free or reduced meals. Title 1 funds are used in addition to District and State funding. Every student in the school is eligible to benefit from Title 1 funds and services. 
How does Wilton Manors Elementary Benefit from being a Title 1 School?
Wilton Manors Elementary is a total Title 1 School Wide Project School. The additional funding we receive is used to provide supplementary staff, instruction and support services for students who need extra help in reading, mathematics, science and writing. We are fortunate to have Ms.Jan Crouse serving as our Title 1 Coordinator. She works with teachers, students, parents and has been extremely effective in developing strong Community Partners and volunteers who support school improvement initiatives. The high level of “community” support at Wilton Manors over the years has been instrumental in increasing student achievement and has contributed to the outstanding success of our “A” school!
