Wilton Manors Elementary was very fortunate to enjoy the volunteerism and warm smile of Grandma Eubanks for the past 17 years. Grandma Eubanks supported Ms. Lennon's classroom as apart of the Foster Grandparents Program. She was a tireless and consistent volunteer who graced our school every day with her positive energy and love for the students and staff. As part of the celebration, our students read the following poem that was written by our poetry club:
Remembering Grandma Eubanks
Grandma Eubanks was a great person,
She was with us for a good reason.
She comforted us when we were sad
And always made sure we were happy and glad.
If we got angry she would say, "KNOCK IT OFF!"
And gave little jokes that made us laugh.
Even though she was firm, she was not mean,
She said it was important to work as a team.
She helped us learn how to read
And taught many children how to succeed.
We will always cherish the fond memories we shared
And will never forget how much she cared.

Following the remembrance, a tree was planted in the courtyard directly outside Ms. Lennon's classroom along with a plaque remembering Grandma Eubanks and her tremendous contribution to our school.
