Passport to Peace Closing 2010

Each year we culminate our Passport to Peace program by “visiting” somewhere in the world. This year we "traveled" to Mexico, in part because of our service project in Coba. This event allowed us to dig a little deeper into the culture and environment of Mexico. The students presented their "Passports” at the immigration desks, “entered the country” through the cafeteria doors, and took part in a celebration of Mexico. We also celebrated the people selected to represent the 12 Attitudes from the Passport to Peace. After our Mexican Celebration, we unveiled a mosaic created by all of the students, staff and community members under the guidance of Ms. Cindy Tkach. We ended our special day with a Walking Field Trip to City Hall and exchanged keys from Coba and the City of Wilton Manors. We also recieved a Proclomation from the Mayor.
